Smooth Sailing with Creuza Marina
An eternal source of inspiration, the port city of Genoa is a place that Fresh has always had a deep connection to. The birthplace of Christopher Columbus, this historical melting pot of culture was appropriately named ‘La Superba’ (The Superb One) back when the Italian navy dominated the Mediterranean making it one of the most powerful places in Europe for nearly a thousand years. Still a thriving and cosmopolitan port today, in more recent times Genoa has come to embody the classic nautical aesthetic that’s become a real pillar of classic Italian style since the early 1980s.

Following on from last year’s ‘Equipment’ range, this season Fresh have taken their beloved Ligurian coast and its city of Genoa as the port from whence their new designs have set sail from. Named ‘Creuza Marina’ the new collection takes its name from the 1984 hit record ‘Creuza de Ma’ by Genovese singer Fabrizio de Andrè. The title of the song refers to the narrow, steep pedestrian pathways or mule track, often lined with walls, that connects hills to the sea in Liguria. Whilst Marina is in reference to the traditional small wooden boats found in Camogli, whose beautiful paintwork provided a direct inspiration to the colourways chosen for this collection.
Reflecting our proud Italian seafaring roots with a truly timeless look, the Crueza Marina collection also represents the unique combination of natural tranquility and human vitality that exists on the Ligurian coast.

Made in Italy and dominated by nautical stripes, screen-printed naval lettering and coastal motifs, the range features polos, tees, sweatshirts and chunky knitted fisherman jumpers. Inspired by the sea and made to be worn wherever your travels take you to.
